Hi, I'm Caseelynn

Let's capture special moments together

My name is Caseelynn Shimmin. I’m originally from Virginia—a small town tucked in Central Illinois—where I grew up on a purebred Shorthorn and Angus cattle farm. In 2018, I moved to northwestern Illinois to follow my dream of becoming a high school ag teacher. These days, I split my time between capturing memories behind the lens and teaching junior high and high school agriculture at Bureau Valley in Manlius, IL. I am loving life with my husband, Marshall, and our daughter, Scarlett!

My love for photography began on the road, traveling to livestock shows across the country with my mom, Cindy Cagwin-Johnston. More recently, I’ve fallen in love with what my mom likes to call “people pictures”—portraits that let me share how I see the world and celebrate life’s special moments.

I’m still discovering my niche, but for now I’m loving every session—whether it’s seniors, families, engagements, or weddings. Let’s make some magic—book your session today!

Photography builds bonds, nurtures relationships, and honors the stories we carry. It celebrates love, highlights legacy, showcases heritage, and commemorates the beauty of now. Each image is a chapter in someone’s story—and I’m grateful to help tell
